To Squat or Not to Squat?

Performing the squat should be easy and natural! In most cases many people perform the squat WRONG!

Some people simply bend over and pretty much put their heads between their legs with very little bend in their knees. When I see this I am not very happy at all at all!

Others, I see them bend their knees but at the same time their heals are off the floor and I mean, off the floor. When this happens the knees are extremely past the toes. A big no no for those who have knee problems. A big no no for people who do not want knee problems.

Let’s fix this problem…

Stand yourself face to face with a wall. If you can find a wall with spikes, even better. If you get pierced by one of these suckers you will learn not to make squat mistakes pretty fast. Ok back to standing in front of the wall.

Make sure you have your feet shoulder width apart. Make sure your toes are about 4 to 5 inches away from the wall. Place your hands to the side of your hips. Now, while facing the wall and all your body parts in the right position, bend your knees while reaching down the side of your legs.

If your nose starts bleeding because you hit your face on the wall, you are doing the squats wrong and you probably were going a bit to fast for the first time.

Basically, when you squat, your large pumpkin should not touch the wall nor your knees. You will notice that your heals will stay on the ground.

If you cannot find a wall to perform your perfect squat, look at the picture below showing you how to perform your squat without a wall.
