The Truth About A Six Pack

Yes, we all know to well that Six Pack Abs symbolizes great fitness. This may be true, some of the time. Some of us naturally have a nice flat belly with Six Pack Abs and do not do an once of work. Others work their butt off and eat all the right foods to achieve the nicely sculpted Six Pack Abs.

Everyone has Six Pack Abs buried under there somewhere. It takes two things to get those nicely sculpted Six Pack Abs. The first thing you need to do is eat all the right foods. Yep, eat to get Six Pack Abs! I know, it is hard to believe that you need to eat to lose weight, but, it is true. In order to display your Six Pack Abs you need to lower your fat%.

Next thing you need to do is exercise and I do not mean crunches. Interval training is my favorite along with lots of compound exercises. If you simply just concentrate on the front of your body, your belly, and no where else, you are looking for trouble. If your front side is much strong than your back you will likely end up with back pain. Concentrate on core training and lots of compound movements. The more body parts you target in one workout the more calories you can burn.

Compound exercises move the body through more than one joint movement. The squat for example uses many different muscles and joint movements. Add some weight to the mix and add more tension. Add some interval music to the mix and really get things heated up!

As mentioned earlier, we all have Six Pack Abs under there somewhere. Just to clear up one myth that people still believe, spot training does not work. If you think you are going to get rid of the flab on your belly by just doing crunches or whatever other exercise that targets your Six Pack Abs area, you are wrong. Sure you will target the muscles in that area but really, how many calories do you think crunches are going to burn. I do not know to many people who are completely exhausted after doing crunches. In order to shed the fat you need to do cardio/aerobics, resistance training and eat just right.

Ok, you may be thinking that you will never get those Six Pack Abs. That is fine. You do not have to have Six Pack Abs to feel good about yourself or even to be fit. The trick is to feel good about yourself and not worry about what everyone else is thinking. But, if you set your goals on getting Six Pack Abs, good for you. Just remember, fat loss, muscle gain, weight loss do not just happen over night. It takes hard work, commitment, dedication and the right plan.
