Eating right is hard. Everyone knows how hard it is to eat the right foods and to stick with it.

There are tons of diets out there. “Which one should I try?” “Which on will work for me?” So many questions and so many answers. “Where do I start?” Just a few minutes ago I just did a search on google for diets. I got about 18,600,000 results!

So, really, how many diets actually do work? Why are they so many diets if they all work?

Most diets do work. The problem is, they are designed in such a way that it is torture to follow forever. Do not use a diet. Use a healthy meal plan! Diets are mostly designed to help you drop weight and do not seem to be much use to you if you are looking to be healthy.  Dropping 20 pounds in a month is not healthy. If you are dropping more than 1.5 to 2 pounds a week with a diet… not healthy.

Meal plans can be considered a diet and not a diet. A well planned meal plan will take into considering, all of you nutritional needs were as a fad diet will only think about cutting calories. Yes calories do matter but so do the nutrients you eat.

Most people eat just because they think they have too, because they are depressed, because they are happy, and heck, just for the fun of it!

Write down how you feel before you eat something. Write down how you feel after you have eaten it. Compare the outcome. You can learn a few things about yourself over time.

If you feel great before you eat and then feel terrible after, you probably ate to much and need to learn how to control that. Over time you may see a trend where you are upset and feeling down before you eat and then feel great after you ate. This is telling you that you are likely eating food just to make yourself happy.

Work, kids and a busy life can affect the way you eat. Most of us are in a hurry all day long and never take the time to eat properly. Restaurants and fast food drive through seem to be the answer. The way we live dictates how we eat in most cases!

Just think about it. If we planned our meals for a day and placed it into reusable containers, we may not venture out and eat just anything. We might actually eat some of the right foods. Sounds like work doesn’t it. Well not really if you take an hour every night to prepare meals. Heck, if you are good at preparing foods you could prepare two days worth in one hour!
