If you have gone shopping you have probably seen tons of protein or weight loss bars and supplements. Although these bars claim to help lose weight and add protein, are they actually hurting your chances of losing belly fat and getting great abs? To make sure you are purchasing a health bar that will actually help you, you need to know how to really understand how to read nutrition labels.

This is why your nutrition bar is not nutritious:

One example that is the famous slim fast bar. This is suppose to be designed to help women lose weight as a snack. After examining the nutrition label however, most health experts will agree that the slim fast bar is hurting your chances of ever losing weight. Truth is, most fitness bars are out there for one purpose, to make money for the company that produced them. When examining bars such as the slim fast bar, you will notice that the first ingredient is corn syrup. This is usually followed by hydrogenerated oils, aka trans fat, and lots of sugar. So basically, you are feeding your body junk food. Worst part of it all is, most of these ‘healthy bars’ taste awful so you think you are getting real nutrients.

What kinds of bars work then?

Now, its time to put away the scams and look at a few health products that will actually help you. One of the first is organic food bars. Sadly, these bars are not found at your typically Walmart or grocery store. Most health bars found at those places will not help you get lean, flat abs. To find organic food bars, just stop in any organic food store. Next, prograde cravers are another great nutrition bar. Once again, these bars are all organic food. Finally, the third type of nutrition bar is Lara-Bars. The reason these may be the best types of nutrition bars ever made is because they only have 2-3 ingredients in them. These types of health bars are hard to find and only appear in select stores. If you do happen to come across Lara-bars, grab as many as you can because they will help you drop the pounds and get abs.

In conclusion, I hope you understand why most protein bars will only hurt your chances of getting great abs. If you understand nutrition, however, then you can find the right types of food to eat that will help you.
